Soft-computing approaches for rescheduling problems in a manufacturing industry

Flexible manufacturing systems as technological and automated structures have a high complexity for scheduling. The decision-making process is made difficult with interruptions that may occur in the system these problems increase to define an optimal schedule. research proposes three-stage hybrid algorithm allows rescheduling of operations FMS. novelty presented two approaches: first integration techniques Petri nets, discrete simulation, memetic algorithms second environment machine failures optimize makespan Total Weighted Tardiness. effectiveness proposed Soft computing approaches was validated bottleneck heuristics dispatch rules. results show significant findings contrasting techniques. In stage (scheduling), improvements are obtained between 50 70% on performance indicators. (failure), four scenarios developed improve variability, flexibility, robustness schedules. final (rescheduling), 78% instances variations less than 10% initial Furthermore, 88% support 2% compared heuristics.
